Re: Obama kills Keystone pipeline

just read it. You beat me to it. Doesn't surprise me one bit. He wants to create jobs, but yet he doesn't. Cause it is not the type of jobs that fits his description. We gotta have green jobs that fail, and more union jobs and more jobs that require you to depend on me (aka gov't) for.

For your yanks economy I hope he changes his mind because by 2014 our Alberta crude is going to be piped at maximum rates to our west coast at Kitamat and from there to Asia. If there is no agreement with the United States on getting a cut of the oil "pie" before that I don't like your chances on getting any cut of that pie.

SCT, no studs...yet, Dual OEM intake air filter housings, Banks intercooler & intake elbow, Banks exhaust syatem, Windrunner ported intake manifold, Bullet Proof Diesel remote oil cooler & thermostat, AirDog2 (plus a couple spares), Power steering filter (Amsoil dual-bypass), MagTec deep ATF pan, Electric oil pre-lub pump, Dakota Digital gauges.

How long do you think it takes to get a pipeline approved?

Answer, a lot longer than 60 days.

About a year ago, Kinder-Morgan had their initial application denied for a pipeline here in Ohio. They are still working on rerouting their plan. These things take time to plan.

With the 60 day deadline that was put into the payroll tax cut bill, he was put into an impossible position. It's all a political game, and Americans are being played.

No he wasnt put into an impossible position. These decisions can be made alot faster. Especially since most of the necessary research was done. Obama is just playing politics here

Less than 5 seconds.

If only those who knew what they were talking about replied, this thread would still be on page one.

The work for the initial route was done. You can't just draw a line on the map and say that's our new route. The pipeline companies expect their initial applications to be rejected. That gets them the opportunity to work WITH the government to plan the final route. Heard that straight from a pipeline company.

I want the thing built. There's a lot of work outside of the pipeline itself that comes with it. But I won't blame one person because it got killed this time. Rather than the politicians sitting down and working a plan acceptable to a majority of people involved, they play political games and try to force the issue so they can play the blame game.

Obama was stupid to announce he was going to delay a decision till after the election. Republicans were equally as stupid to try and force a decision quickly.

Why? 60 day studies can be easily done.

Re: Obama kills Keystone pipeline

I happen to actually work onsite for the largest Oilsand mine in Fort Mcmurray, Alberta. Whether any or all of it goes to the USA I could care less. But you can rest assured the oil will go to market every single day. The company I work for currently plans to boost output to 1 million barrels per day inside of the next 10 years. and thats just my company, there's about 5 other operations other than us and more opening.

Crude output from this region is and will continue to be No Joke, and it will never stop until its all gone. The only reason for that pipeline, is that we just do not have any where near the refinery capacity in Alberta to process it all. So it needs to go to Oklahoma and Texas. its pretty straight forward. Or if we build the Northern pipeline to the BC coast like is being proposed now. the supertankers will be lined up to take it overseas.

\side note. A shovel operator uncovered a dinosaur fossil onsite just last year. 110 million year old fossil - Ankylosaurus. I guess pretty rare.
