Supreme Court limits Wal-Mart sex bias case

Supreme Court limits Wal-Mart sex bias case | ajc.com

Quote:
WASHINGTON The Supreme Court on Monday blocked a massive sex discrimination lawsuit against Wal-Mart on behalf of female employees in a decision that makes it harder to mount large-scale bias claims against the nation's biggest companies.

The justices all agreed that the lawsuit against Wal-Mart Stores Inc. could not proceed as a class action in its current form, reversing a decision by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco. By a 5-4 vote along ideological lines, the court said there were too many women in too many jobs at Wal-Mart to wrap into one lawsuit.
So did the justices all agree or was it a split vote?

Class action suits should be banned altogether. The only ones that make any money are the lawyers. If all 30,000 women were to file seperate lawsuits against Walmart, what would happen then?

I hope the people find this humorous. The justices all agreed, yet they voted along party lines (5-4). Unbeleivable and confusing at the same token.

Good. Its the dumbest lawsuit ever. Wal-Mart has some of the most over reaching and ridiculous rules on sex discrimination...

More worthless managers simply because they cant can them...
