O'reilly factor last night- reserve currency

Last month I asked if anybody saw the endofamerica2011 video that discussed our financial collapse because of the crash of the dollar. Last night on the O'reilly Factor, Laura Ingram, who I am not a massive fan of, explained that China, Brazil, Russia and one other country, had a meeting to discuss replacing the dollar as the world's reserve currency. According to the video, this would be a total disaster for us. I am a big fan of Bill O'reilly. If he reported it, I would be very confident in the accuracy of the report. I am assuming his staff has say when Laura Ingram covers and if that is the case, I don't think this is very could news for the United States economy. Any thoughts?

If only those who knew what they were talking about replied, this thread would still be on page one.

Re: O'reilly factor last night- reserve currency

The United States dollar accounts for something like 88-90'something percent of the currency used for global transactions, and it used to be higher. The reason the dollar is used is because for a long time it was the most stable currency, and it served as a medium for countries to come together and purchase goods using a dependable exchange. Even without computers, people knew what the dollar was worth to them, and it was easy to make purchases.

What's changing the game today is technology. It's not some uber secret plot to destroy America or devalue the dollar. With online transactions, your purchase doesn't need to be converted from your currency, then to the dollar, then to the currency of the seller. Now it's just a direct exchange.

However, the dollar won't be replaced overnight. Instead, the share of transactions in U.S. dollars will slowly decline, but the dollar will still remain the majority currency for the long foreseeable future.

And Bill O'Reilly is not a reliable source of information, and I highly doubt his accuracy on anything. I've seen plenty of his stories that have been soundly debunked and shown to contain giant errors and complete falsehoods.

As for the EndofAmerica videos and Porter Stansberry, the video is a fraud and Stansberry is a lunatic.

Man, I can hardly watch O'Reilly, that guy is such a pompous ass, it is unreal!

Sometimes he has some good shows if I can ignore most of his commentary.
