Help with some intercooler boots blowing off!

well i got a 1997 f-350 and ihave a BFH turbo on it and of course its intercooled, these boots just keep blowing off. and there leaking somewhere cause all i can get out of it is 40psi of boost MAX. so obviously these clamps arent holding tight? or im doing something wrong? any help would be great!

Re: Help with some intercooler boots blowing off!

make sure you didn't crush the plenums...clean boots and where they attach with something like brake clean...spray the inside of the boots with hair spray and clamp them down...the hair spray will act like glue and make the boots stick..

Early 99 7.3 F350 auto,TN T-4 mount with a s467 for air,H-11's stud's SRP 1.1 for oil all supplied by unlimited diesel..beehives, DI push rod's, new alliant 315/200 hybrids,Driven diesel fuel system with a fuel lab 41401. ...tuned by Gearhead..

just pulled the passenger side plentum off and re sealed it cause it was leaking, im sure there fine, idk how they would have got crushed but ill try that, Thanks!!

if you go to tight with the clamp..you can crush them...

They crush cause they are just sheet metal.
Cspid aka joe knows a link to a good insert you can put in.
It allows you to tighten the clamp a lot more

riff raff has the incerts..but i think there only for the 3 inch plenums...

Recommended torque is 60 in/lbs on a t-bolt spring clamp..this will also depend on how strong your plenums are..
