Re: Project Shamu Build

Really should post this on the FTE forum. A lot more traffic over there. Great work!

There would be 30 internet mechanics there telling him How wrong he's doing it, and 20 just posting to make an arguement

No, they wouldn't. The forum has a bunch of good guys that really know their stuff from actually working on their own trucks.

It's better than a week with no activity or input from other members or the same three dudes saying the same thing when someone actually does chime in....but thanks for your input.

Re: Project Shamu Build

I go on fte as well, but spend more time in the gas sections. May be a different crowd.
Didnt mean to insult, just going by personal experiences

Re: Project Shamu Build

Wicked Turbo should be here thursday, and after getting all the specs from Dan, it looks like it's very similar to a sxe366, so we'll see how she goes.

Re: Project Shamu Build

Specs on the Wicked Turbo are:

Turbine Inducer: 76.5
Turbine Exducer: 67.78
(Turbine is the same size as stock turbo)
Compressor Inducer: 94
Compressor Exducer: 66

Shaft Diameter is 7mm vs stock 6.3mm

It does have ball bearing vs stock journal bearing. It utilizes the stock size exhaust turbine because you can interchange the stock exhaust housings, so you can put on a 1.0 or .87. Turbo comes with 1.0.

Cant wait to see, it might be a little big for the injectors I have, but anythings better than what I have now! lol

Re: Project Shamu Build

So I have been working on something for a while. Now we bought a very expensive 3D Scanner at work, so I've been practicing with it for a while, and after making our boss's 15' Dodge a front bumper, I decided to scan the 10.5 I have and make a Truss for it, and I got it cut/formed yesterday. So here it is!
