Best Method for Removing the trim?

Has anyone removed that stupid plastic/"Chrome" Trim off the side of the truck? IS there anything else holding on that stuff on?

Let me know what the best method would be. Thank you

Re: Best Method for Removing the trim?

I did on my OBS. I did it in the summer when it was nice and hot and it came off with a little persuading at first. I let the truck sit in the sun for about an hour and then grabed one side and pulled. After that you can use a lttle carb cleaner and a rag or get a rubber high speed wheel that autobody shops use to pull stickers ect. off. What ever it is that they use to stick those on with is some strong stuff!!

i just took that stuff off my 04. use a heat gun and pulled it and started it with a plastic putty knife. then one of those rubber wheels if you have something to spin it fast enough like a die grinder or something like that. or i used a rag, WD-40, and a lot of elbow grease.

you should use a cordless drill. most die grinders spin way over there rating and they will explode. ive seen it happen. its actually pretty funny unless your holding it

Re: Best Method for Removing the trim?

Hoss, what color is your truck? I'd especially like to see what it looks like without its trim if its black. My trim is REALLY ratty looking, and I'm considering losing it.
