Time for new cab corners
after 260000 miles and 15 years its time for new cab corners. the outer corners are gone, inner corners are on their was out as well as part of rocker panel, as well as the lower part of the rear doors. If I didn't like this truck so much and not been the last thing my dad gave me, Id buy a new one, but it just runs too good and drive nice.
So this summer the plan is to pull the bed, cut the rust out, and weld in new panels. I know from working on cars in the past I'm suppose to pull the PCM
, but Im leary about it. I dont have a good record with them. I'm thinking as long as I can ground within inches of the weld spot I should be ok, I hope. Anyone have any helpful tips or expierence in doing this repair? If it makes any difference the new parts will be flanged and TIG welded in.
