Hey guys, just got a "new" (to me) '95 F350 and the paint is rusting off or chipped off and generally giving up in large areas (roof, driver door panels, hood) I'd like to sand off the rust before it gets bad (any worse) and cover the bare metal parts temporarily until I have money to repaint it properly (Read: take it to someone who knows what they're doing).
The general idea i have: Sand with 80grit in the really bad areas and work my way up to 2000 grit before applying anything (shaker can? painting/priming is not my gig).
My question is this: What should I use to temporarily re-coat (cheap is good,) and I don't care how bad it looks, I'd like to just have it colored black. Current color is black fading to pink trim at the botom
(not going to lie, its growing on me). My goal is to not have it look much worse than it does now, and protect the body from rusting more. (I bought the truck because of the motor and don't have much income to spare for paint for her)
Also: this is my "first" post, I really hope I've put it into the correct sub-forum, but if I've committed the infamous wrong area blunder, I apologize, and could a mod please correct?
