2000 grit wet/dry sandpaper, and some rubbing compound to polish it out when you are done sanding. I did my motherinlaws in about 45 minutes, looks like new.

Re: Anybody try polishing compound on fogged headlights?

Thanks guys. I already sanded them, but when I went to use the polish that I had in an old permatex kit, it was empty. I was hoping I could just use polishing compound. Did you use an electric polisher/buffer or did you just do it by hand? Thanks.

Before you do that, use Westleys Bleach White to get ride of the yellowing, then polish away.

Re: Anybody try polishing compound on fogged headlights?

I wet sanded with 1500, 2000 and 2500. I then used some McGuires polish that I had in the garage. All is now clear and well. Much cheaper than buying a kit. This is on my wife's taurus. She can't believe how good it looks. Thanks.
