My paint is starting to bubble around my rear wheelwells. What can be done to prevent it front spreading further?

Re: rust preventing?

I have been mixing about 2 parts kerosene, to 1 part (about) new wheel bearing grease ( its a pain to mix, let set for a day or two stir occasionally), and seems to workd very well, the kerosene drys out and all you have left is a layer of bearing grease, been using it for years, I actually stopped the rust in the rear fender wells. You can use a spray bottle to spray it on , I use a Westleys Beach White bottle.

Just a thought

Re: rust preventing?

But the rust is coming through the paint on the outside. Dont think grease on the outside of my truck would look too good.

Re: rust preventing?

Patch panels , BONDO, new bed side, new bed, many options, these trucks have a black foam type stuff between the bedside and the inner fenderwell and if it gets soaked with salty road grime stuff, it will rust, no matter how good you take care of your truck, your best bet is to fix the bubbles by the manner of your choice and then soak the foam with something that will prevent it from rusting.

Re: rust preventing?

I had the same exact problem last year. We stripped to bare metal, little filler to smooth out, primer and paint. Sprayed the inner well with the sealer suggested above.
