clear coat

so i cleaned up the truck a month or so ago and threw on some wax. it was very nice for about 2 weeks and now it doesnt shine anymore. is this a clear coat problem or wax? btw i dont know anything about body/paint so talk down to me.

2006 F-350 stock until warranty is up

yeah i took the wax off. it looked really sweet for about 2 weeks and when back to looking faded

When you were waxing it did you see black on your rag. If so you have a single stage paint. Their is no clear over the black and the color is just being over run by oxidation. It that's the case it's just wax on wax off grasshopper till you go threw the color.if your not pulling color of and it is cleared the clear is probly starting to fail. If that's the case start saving for that new paint job.
