6.7L new turbo??

We have a 2017 F450 6.7L with 135k on it. When you start out cold in the morning invariably within a mile or so the truck will go into reduced power mode and throw a CEL. The shop pulled code P259F, and monitored the vehicle during a cold start road test. Based on pinpoint test KA they are recommending a new turbo. Seems to me the miles are quite low for a new turbo. Any thoughts?

I'd tell them if it doesn't fix the issue they can't charge/bill you for the turbo and install.

Is the truck a Cab and Chassis version truck?

Re: 6.7L new turbo??

Some report there is an updated programming to correct the issue. Seems as it may be related to using the Exhaust Brake feature.

Yes it was a cab/chassis. We had a cargo box installed on it from a previous cab/chassis we owned. We dont use the exhaust brake feature. I like your suggestion.
