Top side creepers- which do you suggest?

Ok fellow techs-Engine bay creeper/top side creeper- which do you like? Water pump is needing change on my lifted f250 and i don't like standing on a ladder and leaning on everything, even with covers on it. Looking at getting an engine bay creeper and was wondering what everyone has used and liked? Or if someone designed one i am not apposed to building it myself. I have seen TraXion 1-00020 Foldable Topside Creeper for $200 and a Elevator Over-The-Top Topside Truck Creeper for $850. Any help would be great

I have the traxion too. Works great. My truck is lifted 4" and I still have plenty of room to go higher.

Re: Top side creepers- which do you suggest?

I have seen a number of them that members of forums have made to fit their vehicle. They have made them from everything from 2x4's to metal tubing.

I did a couple of quick searches but couldn't find the pictures of them but.

All it takes is a little imagination and some time to make one. For a factory built one a lot have been happy with the one from Northern Tools.

Re: Top side creepers- which do you suggest?

Since the web page says that it is a Traxion I'll go with it.

I didn't even look it up until you posted the photo of it. I just know that quite a few members on a couple other sites have bought it. For some reason I believe that the price of them went up around $50 since the last time that I looked at them. But if you buy it now from Northern you can get a $25 gift card from them.

Re: Top side creepers- which do you suggest?

been thinking about the traxion on and adding thr flip up rear bar so my legs can be up too. my truck has a 6.5 inch lift, 37" tires and a prerunner light bar on it so has me wondering since the top pad looks short and then obviously wondering on height.

You might need to look at building your own out of 2x4's. I can't find the picture of the one that I saw but the person that built it make a X frame with supports that came out from the top to go over the engine and ones at the bottom for stability that would extend under the vehicle. He even put steps on it so that he could get up and down.
