Curiosity

This is the first and only forum I've ever joined, and had a couple of questions. First, in a member profile, what is a "local"? The others are pretty self explanatory, Newb, Mod, Admin, ect. Second, I've noticed a few threads around last couple of days, that have a lock picture where the reply count usually shows. Is that bad? Thanks for your time guys, still learning the ropes.

Re: Curiosity

Local means your one of the gang post wise.

The lock means the thread is locked, no more posting or editing allowed

Re: Curiosity

Oh ok. Thanks. I guess my next question would be, how would a new member with 4 posts get their threads locked? Spam thing?

Re: Curiosity

Spam, or spam filter.
Sometimes the filter locks the thread because it thinks there is a problem, then a mod, or admin goes in, and fixes, or deletes the thread

You can also change the header under your name, the one under yours is automatically generated by post count

Re: Curiosity

So I locked the threads down. The reason behind it is, it just gets confusing with different people answering the same questions in different posts. To keep everything on track I locked all but one. I tried to merge them but I was having issues on my phone.

If it was spam I would of deleted it.

Re: Curiosity

Oh ok, thanks for explaining all that, all of you. Makes sense now, I did notice it was the same questions over and over, but didn't connect the dots any further. Still new to this techno stuff, but I'll catch up sooner or later. I had no idea about changing the header either, thought that was an admin only thing. Thanks guys.
