Tom, can you take a screen shot and post it?

I enabled chat on my laptop and bounced around in it and haven't seen what you are describing.

Even when I open up the chat session I don't get what you are describing. I have even looked in the User CP and didn't find anything.

Have you tried opening the chat and then closing it again?

Here is the chat screen that I get.

Re: how do i turn off the chat icon??

Try going up and starting chat by clicking on the chat in the top toolbar. It should then bring up another screen to run Adobe Flash. Then click on that and it should bring you to the chat page that I have the picture of. Then just close it down or link back to the forums here and see if that does anything.

Re: how do i turn off the chat icon??

Sorry to hear that you're having troubles @tjctransport. I don't really access the site with Tapatalk so I'm not super familiar with it. I do think that a screenshot would be helpful though, to have a better idea of what's you're seeing. If you're not sure how to take a screenshot on your computer, this link shows you how to do so from a variety of computers and devices. If you're able to grab a shot, upload it here so we can all have a closer look.

Cheers,

Erik

Re: how do i turn off the chat icon??

Tom, if you want to do a screen shot it is quite easy.

On the top of your keyboard there will be a key labeled PrntScr Push it.

Then open up a program called Paint That program should be under Windows Accessories

Then once Paint is open hover the cursor in the middle of it and hit keys Ctrl and V at the same time. This should put the screen shot into the Paint Program.

Then in the upper left hand corner you will see File, click on this and then click on Save As then JPEG picture and save it where ever you want.

Now you can post that picture of the screen shot onto the forum here.
