Question 5speed conversion ?s

Ok guys it's been awhile since I been on here and I've looked around for answers but nothing really straight forward.

So I've recently got ahold of a couple obs trucks that need work. I'm planning on swapping the 5speed from one truck to another that is an auto. Do you have to swap the floor pan out for the shifter or can you just cut the hole? I'm planning on fixing both eventually just trying to get one going for now so I wanna leave it as complete as I can. Also when I do swap everything over is there any wires that need to moved so it will start with the auto pcm? I have a 6 pos burnt for a manual already. Thanks ahead guys.

Re: 5speed conversion ?s

If you do a body lift, you may as well cut into the doghouse anyway since it would need modification. Otherwise no, side to side they are exactly the same and like 8 bolts, just swap it.

If you have the 6pos burnt for a manual PCM just plug it in and go, the shift points will be fine. The auto trans WILL NOT run on a manual PCM, but the reverse will work fine.
