oil in water, blown head gasket?

new to this forum im 17 and got a 96 f250 7.3l (dads old work truck) for my 16th bday had oil in the water and a bad temp sensor mechanic looked at the coolant and said i had a blown head gasket and like an idiot i pulled a head off on his say so only after i pulled the head i read about blown hg's and saw it pukes water out the degas bottle my truck didnt so im wondering if i should go ahead and pull the other head (pulled drivers side and it was fine) or if it might be my oil cooler injector sleeve etc. thanks in advance for any help

Most of the time it's the oil cooler. I would put it back together and replace the orings on the oil cooler. Be sure to use oem parts. The Dorman ones suck.
