wstarted the V10 to 7.3 project over the aeekend

Well, I started my drivetrain swap over the weekend. Pulled out my triton v10 and I'm installing an international 7.3 from a bus. Getting a trans built as we speak (internals were the same from v10 to diesel) got complete engine and dash harness, ecm and idm from a member here. Just ordered new oil pickup, oil pan, oil cooler, and motor mounts. Hoping to drop the 7.3 in this weekend so I can start the wiring. Will try and take pics along the way. The v10 drivetrain came out very easily, so not many pictures. Wish me luck!

But is the bell housing the same from the v10 to diesel? If I remember correctly. No they aren't however from a bus might be different.

Nope, they aren't. He'll need a 4r100 from a diesel to mount on the T444e.

I have a trans from a diesel. But it was just a case. So I'm using the guts from the v10 trans in a 7.3 case. I shouldve said that earlier

Re: wstarted the V10 to 7.3 project over the aeekend

Had some good progress the last few days. I found out that to bolt the motor mounts on I needed a truck oil cooler not a bus one and to use the truck oil cooler I needed a truck exhaust manifold because the truck oil cooler hits the manifold. So I now have motor mounts on, new oil cooler using super duty truck ends, anr got a new dorman drivrs side exhaust manifold. Whew. Now the 7.3 is ready to drop in the truck. Hopefully dropping it in tomorrow night and then the slow process of wiring.

Do you have the fuel system figured out? I'm sure the vacuum for hvac is different as in how its all hooked up to the electric pump. Does your truck have hydroboost on it already or did the v10 trucks have a brake booster. As well as the cooling system is all different and the front drive accessories on the motor. Just some ideas if you haven't thought about them yet.

Id lean away from the oil pan gasket as many are having problems with them leaking and never sealing rite. Id go with the gray stuff from ford instead of having to repull the same engine just because of a oil gush that wont stop.
