planning 95 f350 fummins build a few questions

hi

i just aquired a 95 f350cclb 7.3 5speedsoon to be 4x4.
im considering a 12valve or p pump 24valve swap but i have a few questions
i have had 3 12 valve trucks and loved the motor but not the truck but am a big obs ford fan

would i b better off going to the dodge nv4500 and tcase or is the zf5 up to the task of about 550 rwhp also would it be better to swap it to the zf6 since im going to be deep in to it any how.

what mounts are good or is it better to just fab my own

any other insight into this subject would me very appreciated.
will aslo be searching forum just thought id ask outright
thanks
wayne

Given those 2 choices of t-case, Id go with the dodge one, but I would want the 241dhd rather than the 241dld. Obviously with that, using the dodge 4500. Save your money from buying the adapter, just plop the whole dodge drivetrain in. With the 4500, you want to keep it over 1500 rpm in 5th, especially towing. The low rpm resonance is one big contributor to knocking 5th gear off. If it does fall off, you can keep driving for quite a while, nothing really gets damaged in there.

ya im a big nv4500 fan and never broke a t case in any of my 1 ton dodges. what are peoples thoughts on six speed be it dodges nv5600 or the ford zf6 thinking six speed would help with the fuel bill. just thoughts thanks for the input

5600's weigh about double a 4500. 5th doesnt fall off them. The 5600 really benefits from an extra qt, some folks even say 2. Overdrive on the 4500 is .74, 5600 is .73, zf6 is .72, and g56 is .79. I would not consider going 6speed for the .01 or .02 gain. Other reasons, sure, but overdrive ratio, no.
