Re: Pulled up to a diesel pump today at $2.05 a gallon !!

Heard a bit about this on NPR this morning. They said the old mechanical pumps don't have a "4" in the dollars place so the state gave them permission to sell 1/2 gallons if they labeled it well.

FYI: We were paying $1.41/ g when "W" got into office. That's a tick over 300% inflation on the prime mover of our economy in just 7 years. It's about 600% if you look at just the price of a barrell of oil.

I'm officially...Stroke-less.

That's a great statement if we accept the premise that our president is the root of all evil in the world. But let's also not forget that the greatest rate of increase for fuel happened after 2006 when the great saviour democrats regained control of the Senate and Congress. Perhaps if the government hadn't given the EPA so much influence, we wouldn't have hamstrung ourselves and not been able to sensibly explore our own oil deposits or not build any new oil refineries, all of which would increase the supply and lower the cost. For all those people that talk of the possible environmental impact of off-shore drilling rigs, how much oil was spilled in hurricane Katrina? The answer is none.

If he isn't he is the best impersonater the world has ever seen. Meanwhile the oil companys have been getting billions in tax breaks and incentives and they haven't spent a lick of it on developing new refineries. Dubya pretty much neutered the EPA as soon as he got into office so that one isn't holding water either. I suppose you really think it is the production of biofuels that is responsible for the sharp rise in food prices too. Then to make sure we can never recover there is the "No Child Left With a Mind" assault on our education system. I hope the man rots in he!!.
