Re-gearing

I have a 1997 f350 f350 Long Bed, Crew Cab, Automatic, 2wd
Have an Edge Evolution programer
4.10 gears and 5.8 mpg

I was wondering what kind of speed and milage differences I would see if i put in 3.73 or 3.55 gearing. What would yall sugest. Thank you

You have more problems than just gearing if your getting 5.8 mpg.

What mileage are you at?

01 f-250, Standard
Rev tech 4" lift, 37" military wrangler Mt tires
KC diy 66, Full force 160/100 and custom tunes from PHP
Banks intercooler and full 4" exhaust, Diy S&B intake
Diy quad feed, Hydra, Isspro boost, pyro, and fuel pressure
3/0 battery cables with military style terminals

Truck has 75k on it. And I drive like an 80 year old man so its not the way i drive thats causing the issue

wow, that's pretty rough! are you getting 5.8mpg whether you are running the egde programming or stock program?

It gets the same no matter what stock to 100hp settings

Make sure your ebpv is open all the way. Make sure you don't have brake drag. Check for leaks in your up pipes. Boost leaks.

yeah, something is fked up there. i would check the brakes like sbluke says. thats waaay bad fuel mileage. my ccsb 4wd with 35 inch tires gets 13-14 mpg

I unplugged my ebpv and got maybe a .5 increase. My brakes aren't dragin and if there was a leak in the up pipes or a boost leak, wouldn't it be pretty loud cause the truck sounds normal to me. Any other ideas? 😂

Boost leaks and up pipes won't make a lot of noise.

The ebpv maybe stuck shut and unplugging it won't do anything.

What are you using to track your mileage? You might want to try comparing your odometer to a GPS.

Also check for a fuel leak.
