New Tire Size +/- MPG?

I am currently running 305/70/16D Fun Country IIs, the specs are: 33x12.3, 56 lbs, . I'm wanting to go with 295/75/16D Terra Grapplers, specs: 33.19x12.13, 59 lbs., 626 revs per mile. Will I see any change in MPG? Plus or minus? If need be I'll go down to a 285/75/16E, specs: 32.76x11.5, 58 lbs, 634 revs per mile...i think. I'm thinking the change to a less agressive tread pattern and narrower tire will off set the 1/4 inch height and 3 lb weigt increase netting me a little better MPG.

Re: New Tire Size +/- MPG?

Going down to 285 from 305 will improve your MPG. Going to a less agressive lug pattern will improve your MPG.

After changing the tire size, do yourself a favor and get your speedo recalibrated for the tire size you have decided on. Otherwise discussion of MPG is just babble corrupted by speedo error.
