Need A Little Help

Finally got off my fat butt and started testing if paddle mirrors give better MPG than TT mirrors. Looking at the relative size... I don't know.

My problem is that I've never changed mirrors. I got the nuts loose but the electrical connector is down in the door. How do I get the door inside panel off enough to get at the connector? Do I have to pull the whole inside panel off?

Help!

Anybody in the Indianapolis area wanna help? Beer can be provided.

Re: Need A Little Help

Dave. The door panel is very easy to remove. I think its 2-3 screws. 1 behind the door light/reflector and the other under the armrest if I remember right. With the panel off...peel the plastic back and the harness is easy to get to.

I also believe you have to pop off the little black piece on the forward most part of the window to get it off.

Yep. Two or three nuts behind there.

Re: Need A Little Help

Thanks, PTSUPERD. It was the one in the light that had me buffaloed.

Gotta be real careful getting the nutwashers off so you dont drop them down into the door.

Should have results in a couple or three weeks. Baseline was 26.32 MPG with TTs.

Re: Need A Little Help

Don't know. Aero improvements can be unpredictable. The paddle mirrors look to be about the same frontal area as the TTs, but just hug in closer.

If anyone gives a rip, I look to be at Scheid's event end of the month. I should have some numbers by then.
