7.3 mpg and distance

Well to start I have a e99 and my mods are on my sig... My question is this is my first time to take her out to travel and it's a distance of 540 miles a 8 hour drive and at 85mph.... Is that safe because I drive 65 and it's feels pretty revved up and I have stock gears I just feel that the rpm would be pretty high.. What do u all think is it safe and what should I take for emergency like hoses or coolant oil???

99 FORD F350 4x4 Dually 7.3...... 6in Lift On Open Country M/T 315/75/16 ....PHP 6-position chip.. 4in down pipe to 5in single to tail... Custom cold air with napa filter...boost fooler..

Re: 7.3 mpg and distance

i'm guessing it's 4.10 gears? so that'd put you at 2600-2700rpm at 85 mph... if i'm doing the math right lol

i'd like to know too actually lol

Re: 7.3 mpg and distance

I think as long as you inspect your belts/hoses before you go you should be fine. Nothing about running that distance/speed that should prematurely wear anything. If you doubt the health of any hoses or belts, just replace them before you go! Better safe than sorry.
