MPG with WMO

When using WMO at a 50/50 ratio with diesel would ICP need to be increased for max. MPG due to lower viscosity? Today outside temps were up to 75 degrees and the truck had lots more response to the throttle compared to 20-40 degree temps of the last week or so. It would appear to me that more ICP would be better in this situation.

Re: MPG with WMO

Seems to me WMO would be MORE viscous at low temps.

Higher ICP might help up to a point. That point is where the WMO cannot flow into the injector fast enough to fill it before the high ICP squirts it in.

I would think at relatively lower temps a splash of kerosene might reduce viscosity enough to fill the injector.

Another possibility is to reduce RPM enough that more viscous fuel can fill the injector.

Re: MPG with WMO

Thanks for the input Dave, sorry about the poor wording of the question. I will try some kerosene at next fill up. How much kerosene would be needed on a 35 gallon fill up? The temps here rarely drop below 20 degrees overnight. RPMs are probably not an issue as I seldom go over 2500 RPM unless clowning around a little bit.

Re: MPG with WMO

For that far south, 2 or 3 gallons per full tank should do fine. I use 5 per tankful on the frozen steppes in winter.
