Alternative fuel filling stations in Cali

Couldn't think of anywhere else to put this so.

I had read somewhere that there was a state initiative to get more alternative fuel filling stations in California. Does anyone have any information about this. I have search, and am still searching, and haven't found much. I am seriously looking into this as a potential business opportunity.

Thanks

Re: Alternative fuel filling stations in Cali

there is a site i saw a while back when i had my f150. if you go to fords site and click on their vehicls that can take other fuel, taurus, crown vic, f150, etc etc it gives you a link to some places and also information to see if your vehicle can run on it (like if your f150 has an R in the 8th place of the VIN it can run on e85)

at the time...summer 06, there was only 4 e85 stations in cali, not sure about bio diesel. my dad was looking to invest around 100k into the bio fuel market but stopped when he found out the draw backs of it. it doesnt get the mpg that regular fuel does (and from an investors stand point, him looking pros vs. cons and how he will make money [alot of the people that believe in that global warming BS that he can take money from hahah] he found that the amount of energy it takes to make it makes it not extremely profitable and creates more polution {when all the tree huggers learn this they wont be pushin for it any more} the technology isnt quite there yet to make it economically in very large quantities and as good as it can be...when it gets closer maybe then it will be

Re: Alternative fuel filling stations in Cali

I just did some research on biodiesel less than a week ago and for the life of me I cant find the sight. It did tell me that there are three (3) stations in No. Calif. that sell B100, pure bio fuel.

It was kind of scary when you get into the nuts and bolts of bio. They have a disclaimer that B100 has such a cleaning effect and removes the "Crud" from all parts including your tank and because of this they recommend that you carry extra fuel filters with you.

It appears that bio mix ie B20, B40, etc does not have such a drastic effect on the engine. They also claimed that B100 tends to "Jell" in tmps above 40* F plus if spilled on painted surfaces wipe off immediately with a soft cloth.

I don't know how much of this is true, I'm just passing on what "THEY" claimed.

You really need to look this up for yourself and make your own decisions.

Re: Alternative fuel filling stations in Cali

I've done plenty of research guys on the pros and cons, given that here is a demand for the alternative filling stations. Just doing the research to see if there is a enough demand to get the funding to support a successful business.
