will changing shift points increase my MPG?

I have a 2003 6.0 king ranch I have EGR Delete, 4 inch exhaust and the edge cts juice with attitude I am also running 295/70/17 toyo muds and auto transmission. I have noticed that my upshift points seem low. I am having to use a lot more throttle when it upshifts to my next gear to maintain that same speed. I have the option to change shift points and feel that increasing mph before upshift will give better MPG and ease up on tranny wear and tare????? does anyone have any suggestions on what to change the shift points to? It also is very cold here in the single digits most mornings. I know that cold kills mpg but I shouldn't be getting 13 mpg should I???

One thread for this question should be sufficient.

To be fair, he did have two other posts before those threads got deleted.

Three threads to ask about what to raise your shifts points to increase mpg is just.......well, I'll let everyone form their own opinion.

Re: will changing shift points increase my MPG?

For better MPG, I'd reduce the shift point to about 1250 RPM. That's about where I shift my stick.

But operation at that low an RPM would probably destroy most automatics. They are frail enough as is.
