Smaller vs. larger valance?

I have an 08 truck with the small valance but have seen the later model truck running the larger front valance. I'm guessing ford did this to increase mileage. I was wondering if anyone has run both and has noticed a difference. Thanks.

I doubt you would notice a difference, but on paper, yes, there will be an improvement.
