Excessive fuel consumption

I have a problem with excessive fuel consumtion right now. I have programmed back to stock (I thought maybe a progammer problem), always fill up at the same place, have not changed my driving habits. I have no visable leaks either. I went from 18 MPG in town to 10. I have 138000 miles on the truck. Automatic. It does feel a bit sugglish as well. Any thoughts?

Re: Excessive fuel consumption

Nobody does 18 in town. 12-14 maybe. You need to recalculate.

Re: Excessive fuel consumption

It is smoking heavier than before. I have not seen any visable leaks.

To respond to Cool Canuck I actually was getting 18 when driving sensibly. It is only a 2 wheel drive.

Re: Excessive fuel consumption

You mean smoking heavy with no chip? Sounds like you have a boost leak or injector issue. What color is the smoke?

Re: Excessive fuel consumption

Thanks to all who helped. It turned out to be a boot connector on the intercooler. Any recommendations on an aftermarket brand?

Re: Excessive fuel consumption

I think Diesel Site has some upgrades there. Not sure who sponsors this forum.
