Re: mpg?

I have a 2007 F 350 Super Duty Crew Cab 4 X 4 Dually with the 6.0L diesel, automatic with a 373 rear end. Only modification is a Amsoil Bi-pass filter on 5W 40 Diesel synthetic.
At 1750 R.P.M. (approximately 60 mph) I have reached as high as 26 M.P.G.
At 2000 R.P.M. (approximately 70 mph), I have reached as high as 21 M.P.G.
These were both strick highway trips with no jack-rabbit starts or stops.
Normal everyday city / highway combination with no restrictions seems to consistantly net me 18 M.P.G. As I live in Canada this is an imperial gallon = 4.54 litres. Hope that helps.

Re: mpg?

Hand calculated or overhead. 26mpg with a dually yeah probably not. Hand calc your mileage for accuracy oh wait its even a 4x4, now I know thats off the overhead.

Re: mpg?

Re: mpg?

An Imperial gallon is approx. equal to 1.201 US gallon. The 26 mpg is now 21.64. The 18 mpg all around driving is now 14.98. Hope this helps.

Re: mpg?

Lately most all my driving has been back roads, seems I get stuck a lot of times around 40mph and in 4th gear around 1600 or so. I would be much happier to pick up an extra 5-10 mph and drop about 300rpm but seems traffic won't let me. I have been averaging around 16mph with this backroads driving. I haven't been going super easy on it, maybe punch it once or twice on my 65 mile round truck to and from work. Otherwise driving it easy and never going above 2k. Truck is an 05 F350 crew cab long bed single rear wheel 4x4 auto. Got a toolbox with only about 200lbs of tools and such other than that bone stock. Highway trips I have seen around 18 or so, but this is going pretty much 80mph around 2100-2200rpm

Re: mpg?

i see about 17-18 in town and 20+ on the highway if i keep it around 2K rpms

These numbers are if i baby it. I've done it for a few tanks, but it's hard to do. For my normal driving, i see about 15-16 in town and around 20 on highway.

2005 F-250 FX4 CC
bought it, then changed it.
