How to go about 120 miles farther on a tank of diesel.

Remove your lift. Fix all the crap wrong w/ your truck. Drive slow.

1) Basically I pulled off my 7" Fabtach, 4.30 gears, and 37s. I went to a 2.5" lift, 3.73 gears, 35" Toyos on my same 20" Weld wheels. (still not exactly a mpg set up)

2) I fixed all the little problems on my truck and I put stock injectors in it.

I've been running so much WMO that I wasn't sure of my mpg lately but I knew it was better. But last weekend I made a run to Houston to take Grandma out for Mother's Day and I was flat out of WMO so I was able to check.

3) On my trip to Houston I rolled the windows down, set the cruise around 62 mph, cranked up some 1970s Willy, and generally kicked back. My usual mpg of around 11-12 ended up around 17-18 for this tank. That's about a 50% improvement!

Now I still had multiple full throttle passes etc but not to shabby. I'm wondering what the effect of a bit more responsive turbo would have on my mpg? Got a smaller turbine housing on the way.

I'm officially...Stroke-less.

Not bad at all any time you can gain that much more range.

Prices ever come back down some your going to be set up for some cheap running.

Around town driving I manually lock my TC up and idle between stop lights.Pisses people off but who cares they don't pay 4.45 a gallon

GTS has got my BDs to straighten them out a bit. Honestly I've used 3 injector shops, some of them multiple times, and he is the only one that has ever made my injectors run right every time.

GTS took a set of beat AD cores (all were pulled out because they were missing from different trucks) and he made them absolutely purr.

I'll either sell the BDs or put them back in at some point when I get them back.

Actually, it spools BETTER on the ADs than it did on the BDs. I've sort of learned that when you go down on injector cc you lose #'s of boost up top but spool up seems very similiar.

It spools adequate. I wouldn't call it awesome. That's why I'm trying to get another turbine housing.
