Rebuilding a 5r110

I have a spare transmission for my truck sitting in my shop. I like to tinker, learn things, and work on my own stuff. I've been thinking about rebuilding this trans with new clutches, shift kit, and a gogo solenoid. I've never rebuilt an automatic before but consider myself pretty handy. Money isn't really the problem, I just want to learn how to do it. If I take my time and not get in a hurry, is it a good idea to attempt this myself?

Re: Rebuilding a 5r110

Can someone direct me to where to buy the parts and which are best? I'm not interesed in a new torque convertor, since I think the stock is good enough for my upgrades. Thanks
