Trans won't go into reverse.

I got an 02 f250 automatic with the 7.3 and today as I was driving it randomly would not go anywhere when I stepped on the gas pedal. I made it to a gas station and when I tried leaving the truck wouldn't go in reverse. The truck only goes in reverse when the truck is only running accessories. I managed to get it back home and it drove fine it just still wont go in reverse. I checked the fluid and its good. Checked the shift linkage. Also I disconnected the battery for a bit and reconnected it. I was thinking maybe it's an electrical problem?

Re: Trans won't go into reverse.

It's not electrical. There is nothing electrical that can prevent a reverse engagement. It could be a loose feed bolt between the case and valve body, or it's a damaged seal in the reverse clutch.
