Unhappy Cracked TC with metal in Fluid

Have a 2008 6.4, 93000 mile, just found trans leaking fluid, took it to a Trans shop my Torque Converter is cracked, shop said there was metal in fluid also. They said rebuild recommended, but they are saying total cost $6300. Or just replace TC with no guaranties. Any suggestions?

Re: Cracked TC with metal in Fluid

Get a reman from Ford. Autonation in white Bear Lake MN or talk to [email protected] repair for a good price and nationwide warranty. Also replace to trans cooler in front of the radiator and have a radiator shop flush or replce the cooler in the radiator or you WILL be doing it again soon.

Re: Cracked TC with metal in Fluid

the ford reman comes with Torque converter and cooler for you to use in place of the air to oil cooler but it's not as good as the OEM part
so I agree replace that cooler $400.00

the bi-directional flush of the lower cooler is mandatory
