2004 f250 tranny problem

Have a 2004 f250 with the 6.0. Yesterday morning i grabbed my hat off the dash on the way to work went to flip it up on my head and hit the shifter into nuetral. Didnt think it was a big deal but when i put it back in drive it wouldnt go. Sat on the side the road gave it some gas and it finally started to move. Ever since then it shifts horribly and the tow/haul light blinks aftet a few minutes. This morning backing out of the driveway it started to bog down. It resets after i turn the key off but comes back. Someone please help. Im driving this truck bc my dodge i have the motor pulled out so without it im stuck.

What codes are stored in the computer? That is the first step to solve this.
