4r100 filter change question

Going to do a filter change next week and also drain the TC. Just wondering how much fluid i'm going to need to fill it back up? I bought a case but want to make sure that will be enough.

Re: 4r100 filter change question

12 isn't enough. I've done mine twice and if you are patient with the draining you will need 16.

If only those who knew what they were talking about replied, this thread would still be on page one.

There is a Sticky at the top of the forum page with flush procedure and ATF quantity.

Re: 4r100 filter change question

Buy a motorcraft filter. The ones from az and other stores don't fit right. The shop I use has found several that came loose, didn't fit the grommet tight enough and the filter was on the bottom of the pan. A few bucks more is worth it. I use mercon v and tow heavy and no problems.

I've not bought one from Autozone but I've bought them from Napa and Ozark and they were the same filter as the OE filter. They were boxed by ATP. The grommet doesn't support the filter. It rests against the bottom of the pan. Ford added some dimples to the pan, after making it for a couple of years without them, to better hold it in place.
