Help trans is giving up the ghost

So today my trans started giving up the ghost on me. As much as i would love to have a BTS I can't afford it, Also truck is still stock only pulls heavy trailers 7-8 times a year. Does anyone have a trans shop remotley close to Findlay, OH that they would suggest? Thanks in advance for the help.

96 F250 183k miles, rebuilt E4OD, Autometer gauges, 3" DP to 4" MBRP exhaust, Tymar, bulldog pos 6 position soon to come off

Have you looked into an after market valvebody?

03 lariat cc,4x4 7.3,DP-F5,36''MT,8"lift w/trac.bars,4"Silverline ss.exh,AFE II,Optimas,ATS housing,WW,Turbomaster,6.0 IC & tranny cooler,BTS,ISSPRO gauges,HPX,ITP RR,BRV+,Powerslots,WARN prem-hubs,coolant filter,ccv mod,08 mirrors,ARP's,mod.fuel & inj's.,Crower rods,AIH delete,AMSOIL fluids. ~waitn on the 38R~

How does a valve body help if it is already dying?

01 Excursion 7.3L Powerstroke. Gauges with AIH Delete, AIS, CCV Mod, 4' MBRP, BTS Trans, 6.0L Trans Cooler and Intercooler, DP-Tuner F5 chip, ITP In Tank Mod and Boost Annihilator, Diesel Innovation's Regulated Fuel kit, BTS Big Oil system, GTP38R Turbo with 1.15 A/R housing and BPD Stage II AC injectors. Bilstein Shocks with U front and A Rear.

If he has his tranny rebuilt,then a good after market valvebody will help his performance and make his tranny last longer.

After the rebuild, I agree. However, that has to depend on the shop too. If they view it as a modification of their work and refuse to warranty it like many shops I know of, it might be a risky thing.

Well the trans is out and in the shop. The in the pan was super dark and burnt smelling. No big hunks on the magnet so hoping its not terrible.

It is terrible. Burnt fluid is not a good lubricant. It is just a matter of time at this day. I have yet to hear of black burnt fluid that didn't result in a rebuild. Been there, done that twice.

Oh I know it needs rebuilt thats not what I meant. What I meant was that I was glad not to see big hunks in the pan.
