slave cylinder problem

Okay so I have a 97 with a 5 speed and the slave cylinder keeps going out yesterday I had two go out on me and the neutral safety switch doesn't seem to want to engage unless u slam the clutch to the floor but if u do that then the slave cylinder gives out I put a new master cylinder in yesterday as well. The clutch that is in the truck isn't factory its a zoom the previous owner installed that so my question is does any one know of a permanent fix or do I just need to stock up on slave cylinders thanks

Re: slave cylinder problem

I'd get the whole hyd system from ford and install. Comes prebleed and ready to roll. The price is very resonable

Ford makes it

what I am running is is this thread

ZF5 master cylinder upgrade - Powerstroke Nation

as for the neutral safty I bypassed that but you may just need a new switch, but check and see if there is abunch of play under the dash in the linkage and where it pivots

Re: slave cylinder problem

Have you tried the NAPA cylinder? It's bigger than others.

Re: slave cylinder problem

there are two wires that you can wire together to make it to where you dont need to puch the clutch in to start it.(this can be dangerous but you need to be smart)
