Hey there guys I am a brand new member. I am having some issues with my 1997 7.3 F350 4X4
when cold the truck seems to shift fine no issues but after driving for around 10-15 mins she starts to act like it is slipping in between gears. It is really bad when your heading up a hill running about 50MPH in OD
~2200RPM then it quickly loses the gear and it revs up you let off the accelerator and then it slams back into gear. I changed out the VSS
and took it in to have a transmission flush done. The shop immediately said I needed a transmission rebuild but when I asked what was bad in the tranny they just said that there was some metal shavings in the pan and that the transmission is tired. $3400 is what they want for rebuilding it. Just hoping someone may have some experience or info on what is bad.
PS. I have watched and I have never got a flashing OD
light so not sure if it is throwing any codes
