2001 f250 7.3 power stroke

What causes the overdrive off button to flash on a 2001 7.3 liter powerstroke diesel

1979 chevy c30 dually, sm465, 373's? Converted to 6.2 diesel, pump turned up and advanced a hair.(wrecked)
1994 ford F350 dually 4X4: 7.3 powerstroke, 5 speed. 6637, straight pipe into dual stacks. Cooper discoverer at/3's.
2010 Jetta TDI 40 or so mpg :flippa:

I know nothing about ford's. My first one now and font know how to start diagnosis of problems. Any ideas would be great

My '01 mustang GT trans OD Does the same thing... Can't find any codes and no one knows why it does that...will follow topic if you find something. .

Well you need one.
Most parts store code readers will not read these. You can try it, but no guarantees.
Some really like torque app with a Bluetooth adapter.
Some rather prefer autoenginuity.

I found the machine code reader thing you were talking about. A friend had one. He said the 7.3 has a torque converter problem. If that's the case $1000 out the door fixed.

Post the actual code, and I'm sure someone can give better advice. I wouldn't just jump to a tc.
