Non traditional Transmission adaption

This is an odd question but here it goes. My brother and I are working on a project. We have a 88 7.3 NA to go in a 56 ford F-250. We cant seem to find a ZF5 in the Fresno area. We do have a NP 435 and a ranger torque splitter to provide an overdrive gear. Did the 80's trucks use these older transmissions? Is it possible to adapt one to a 7.3? If so who sells a bell housing and clutch fork that will make this work?

Any help is appreciated.

The 6.9's used a 4speed BW trans, it was a T18 or T19, I can't remember which.

Re: Non traditional Transmission adaption

Copy I found a tranny and bell housing on Craigslist in Modesto CA. Guy wants 100$ that seem like a fair price? Also is the bell housing on a 6.9 and 7.3 the same bolt pattern or are they different? If they are the same it may save us $$ in the end.

T-19 or a C6 with a Diesel bell housing will work.

Re: Non traditional Transmission adaption

The diesels used the T19. $100 is a good price. The 435 is geared all wrong for the diesel. You could use it, but you wouldn't like it.
