Zf6 vibrating on deceleration

i have an 01 f350 crew cab long bed with a zf6 while in overdrive and slowing down it makes a noise that is hard to describe but vibration is probably closest it was loud but has gotten quieter once I push the clutch pedal and disengage my clutch it completely disappears it did it once in 4th gear technically 5th if you count the low gear but hasn't since now it's just overdrive I haven't drove it much since it began due to the fear of a bad pilot or throw out bearing ruining an expensive transmission but could this be a carrier bearing beginning to go bad on the driveshaft or is it something on the clutch assembly there is no noise while accelerating or cruising it's only when I take the power off the transmission and begin to slow down once the clutch is disengaged it's gone

Re: Zf6 vibrating on deceleration

I would definitely check the u joints and carrier bearing first. Then pull the driveshaft and grease the slip joint.

Re: Zf6 vibrating on deceleration

Definitely sounds like something along the driveshaft. Read that as cheap and easy fix for once.
