5r110 Trans Tenp Sending Location

2004 F350
Autoeter Trans Temp sending unit???
Test Port??
I pulled the Test Port Plug and it is shorter than the Sender..
Were To Put It???

The test port is the best place. The sender won't go all the way in, it's a tapered thread. It should fit there.

I welded a pipe coupling in the pan and installed it there. Is that a good place?

In my opinion, no, it is not a good place. It is the coldest place in the transmission. There are also places in the pan where the fluid is stagnant, so when the trans heats up that's the last place to get warm.

I was going to move it to the test port but the filter is in the way. Guess I'll do it at the next filter change.
