swaping tranny from ground whos done it

Well Im getting ready to swap in the new tranny and I dont have access to a lift this time. I was just looking for some tips or advice from people that have had to do it this way before. Thanks in advance

01 Black 4dr auto, 118k, BTS trans, RR fuel system, DIY intake, 5in exhaust, CCV, zoodad, non EBV pedestal, high flow outlet, DP-tuner 60hptow, 80hp econo, 100hp per, 120hp race, SS oil crossover line, boost tube, map sensor, IH cps, gauges, RC leveling kit w/leaf springs

94 Civic LS motor turbo'd 11.6 @ 120 14psi stock block

Do it this way all the time its always good to have a trans jack. i dont at home and thats were I do must of my trans work any ways but if you dont just get a normal floor jack and some wood so you dont damge it and cut the boards down so they dont get caught on eney thing and it is a must to have more than one person doing it this way just to be safe. Eney questions just ask me good luck.

I did it not to hard get a tranny jack or atv jack

I used ratchet straps wraped once around the trans and over the frame rails. It worked awesome.

sounds good thanks guys. never thought about the rachet straps and was thinking about buying the tranny jack.


do any of you lift the truck off the ground any cause my truck isnt lifted at all so its not to high. just wondering if it would make it easier

A floor jack and a 2x8 works well too if you have a second person to help balance it. I've done this a few times. I'm always on a budget...

Just jack the rear of the truck up as high as you can.

Jack it up in the rear wouldn't that make it hard to pull it off and slide it on.
