So yesterday I got home from pulling a 2500lb trailer about 100 miles and when I got home I put the truck in park on a hill with the parking brake on and still running. I get back in it 2 minutes later and it's stuck in park. I thought it was just cause I was on a hill so I gave the shift lever a little force and it popped into drive. I then lowered it to 1st and began to maneuver the trailer. I went forward and reverse several times getting the trailer where I wanted it. Then unhooked the trailer and it has no forward gears. Reverse works fine. I looked on the side of the transmission as my wife moved the shift lever and it is moving. Is my transmission completely f-ed or only partially f-ed? I bought the truck two months ago knowing I was gonna have to put some money in to it but I wasn't ready for a whole new transmission. The truck has 260k on it and the transmission has 140k on it. Now I know the this old e4od has a lot of wear on it but I was hoping it would last a little longer till I could save up for a bts. Any input would go along ways.
no I don't live there but they rebuilt mine and it needed redone by another shop as it would not hold pressure. They said having to rev it way up to get it to move was completely normal for their rebuilds.
