Re: broke tranny or transfer case HELP

Have you tried putting it in 4WD? Maybe the t case slipped into neutral? Who did your trans?

Do these T-cases have neutral?

Did you check the trans fluid? It should be clear red and not smell burnt.

One of them truckless bastards.

if you have a manual 4x4 engagement, you can select N in the transfer case. with the electronic i dont think you can select N, but it is possible that i can still find it when you dont want it....

if you jack up the rear atleast 1 tire, spin the drive shaft and listen to the transfer case.. if theres no noise or very little. it could of poped into N. try selecting 4wd high... low... then back to high... and 2wd doing the same tests.

And I am so hung that it drags an inch above the ground. You really believed them? the only way I would use an Aamco or a Jasper is if I was trying to sell the truck and it broke on me.

Re: broke tranny or transfer case HELP

AFAIK, it's the same t-case as those with the hand shifter, so technically, there is a neutral. Have you fiddled with the servo buttons on the dash, or better yet, had an assistant do it while you observe under the truck and see if the selector moves? I _think_ you can see it physically moving from the outside of the case. A long-shot, but one you should at least rule out.

there right with it being almost bullet proof... but they dont know much at all. i called looking for a viton oring for a fleet truck at work... they said they just use what ever fits from the kit from home depot.

still go threw your self and check whats being suggested.
