4R100 took a doody. Maybe?

Hey guys. My son has my old 99 4x4 7.3. 150,000 mi.
K/N filter in stock box
315 tires
373 gears
DP Tuner
muffler / cat delete.
Yesterday night it made the 1/2 shift like normal, then the 2/3 shift was real hard and then nothing in any gear?
Any thoughts on what happened?

Thanks
Jay

Sounds like what i just got done dealing with. May be the beginning stages. I had a TC ballooning, clutch packs slipping, sprags (not sure what those are) goin out.

I ended up having to get a full rebuild. Im no trans expert but i had somewhat similar problems. First off make sure your fluid is full and not burnt. If thats not it you may want to scan it for codes. That should give you an idea of whats goin on.

I'll see if I can get my buddie to scan it. The fluid is clean and smells normal. Thanks! I'll post up as things move along. Might be a good time for a new trans. But he's trying to save for school, in between breaking the truck. It's a kid thing. I'm not paying a dime this time around. Dad's a dick. What can I say....

Sounds like you might have broke one of the shafts, one of the experts will tune in before long

Something mechanical failed. There are several things that can break and do this.
