E4OD Question

Hello, I have here a 1989 F-350 7.3 IDI without a turbo, 4x4 E4OD D60F and 10.25 R with 4.10 gears.

When the engine isn't warmed up, it makes 1800 rev's @ 25 Miles per hour,
I didn't feel that is normal, can somebody tell me something about that?

The truck has only 8000 Miles on it.

Oh, what is Transmission Final Gear Ratio?
and what's that for this truck?

Thanks a lot.

Re: E4OD Question

The E4OD has four ratios. 2.71:1, 1.54:1, 1:1, and 0.71:1. Final drive ratio usually refers to the axle ratio, not a transmission ratio.

Yours doesn't seem to be shifting when it should. There is a sensor on the engine injection pump that probably needs to be replaced or at least adjusted. I don't have the procedure.
