4R100 keeps cracking!

Working on a 2000 F-250 4x4, and like the title says, the transmission keeps cracking near the back. Has all new U joints. First time it we pulled it out, found the small hairline crack, took it and had it welded, re installed and it immediately cracked again. Pulled it back out, got a case, switched everything over (upgraded the clutches) and it lasted about a week and cracked near the same spot. Has anybody had or seen any problems like this?? Got another case again, really would like this to be the last one we're putting in this time!

You probably have a bent driveshaft. Or its WAYYY out of balance. Make sure you're torquing everything properly.

I've never seen this happen. My guess is that there is a problem with the trans mount or the crossmember.

Edit: An out of balance or bent driveshaft is an excellent suggestion.

Not gonna say its not out of balance, because it hadn't been on a machine, but it doesn't have any vibrations driving down the road.

Send it to a driveline shop and have them inspect it and check balance.

It's for sure a balance problem. I've seen a driveshaft with 1 bad cap on the front joint crack a gm 4L60. And 2 bad caps break the transfer case clean off.
