rebilding my trans need help.

i blew my torque converter up, it started to slip. so i order a P.I. and a deeper pan from BD. Now when i took the old pan down there were alot of metal shaving. so i wanna rebuild the whole trans so i dont ruin a good torque converter. but not sure what are some good mods like should i do a new valve body, and i hear the EO4d is not that great. i hear everyone saying get a BTS but i dont wanna spend that kinda money. so what would be some good parts to mod mine, and make it a little faster and smooth out shifts.

Re: rebilding my trans need help.

Put a new valve body in it, new clutches and steels, and you can do billet gears in them, as well as imput shafts... but that gets expensive quickly

The EO4D is honestly not that bad of a tranny, but you have to keep them cool. You also must not just "punch" it from a stop with a load on the truck, you got to get a few RPMs in the tranny first to get the line pressures up...

But I will tell you this, I have a Handshaker in my truck...

give racerX a call if your going to rebuild the tranny by yourself. they have some good quality parts for a pretty good price. i would also call bts and get a valve body from them.

Do not forget to consider metal in the coolers either.

yes, when ever I rebuild a trannsmission (done a few in the race cars) I take the tranny cooler out, and clean it really well by flushing it with fresh fluid, and then hittring it with lots of air... I have a fitting that screws into aftermarket coolers that I hook my compressor up to....

If I cannot get them clean, i replace the whole unit... got to flush the trans lines too...
